ecanis - more than just automotive spare parts

We are ecanis, an independent online retailer for car spare parts based in Leonberg. Since 2018, we have been going our own way in the independent aftermarket (IAM) - with a clear ambition: we want to be the most customer-friendly provider in our industry.

We combine Swabian diligence, technological expertise and a genuine passion for service. This is how we create solutions that keep you mobile - reliably, transparently and in partnership.

Our history - from the idea to the company

ecanis did not fall from the sky. Our story shows how two founders with different backgrounds but the same passion have built a company that sets standards in the independent aftermarket (IAM).

Founders get to know each other. eCom start-up hype.

First Automechanika participation as an exhibitor in the eBay eCom Lounge.

ecanis presents itself at the leading international trade fair for the aftermarket.

Relocation to G52, our new home base in Leonberg is inaugurated.

The founders get to know each other

Our two founders met in 2017 (...little note from the ecanis team: "...and could hardly be more different."). At that time, Christian Wenzel 's first start-up sketches were still lying in the drawer of his childhood bedroom, while Maximilian Weiss was pitching and financing more and more exciting digital business models with capital requirements as a corporate account manager.

The common idea

Impressed, inspired and motivated by the D2C start-up hype in online retail, the joint idea was born to release the "handbrake" in a niche, rather "semi-agile" eCommerce segment with great potential.

To simply do things better in a growth market, to design smarter and to innovate faster than the competition. No sooner said than done.

The independent aftermarket (IAM) was quickly identified as an industry target. But why actually?

Christian Wenzel

Christian has been closely connected to the automotive industry in Baden-Württemberg for as long as he can remember - mainly through his own family environment. He is still fascinated by the flagship vehicles of well-known car brands. Under the supervision of an independent garage, he has also installed the odd car spare part.

In his Master's degree, he focused on scalable system landscapes, automated data processing and the use of new technologies for process optimization. Skills that are crucial today in order to offer customers a full range of inexpensive car spare parts that fit the vehicle exactly.

Maximilian Weiss

During his time in the banking industry, Max developed a burning passion for holistic customer service (...note from the ecanis team: "...unchanged"). In addition to omnichannel strategies, marketing concepts, target group-oriented content creation and clear communication, he was particularly fascinated by the consistent focus on positive sales.

Not the commission-based sale of insurance, because that is the product objective - no. Rather, the needs-based availability of suitable car spare parts to solve urgent customer problems.

Max never fails to ask one key question: " Is this good for our customers right now?"

Our founders do not define ecanis as a start-up. We are an established company, a service hero for our customers and a driver of innovation in the online trade of car spare parts solutions.

With full conviction and a sense of entrepreneurial responsibility, we are committed to keeping even the most inexperienced end customer in the EU and selected third countries mobile - at affordable costs throughout the vehicle's service life.

We are and will remain ecanis.
